Our Setting and Play
Cricklade Pre-School Playgroup is an independent setting run by a voluntary management committee. This committee helps the Pre-School Manager to provide an excellent educational play environment where children feel happy, calm and secure.
We are located very close to our main feeder school within Cricklade, St Sampson’s CE Primary School, ensuring a smooth transition alongside friends from the same year and previous year. We also have weekly visits to the Primary School which
allow the children to experience the space and environment.
Our building comprises of one main indoor environment which is divided into two areas if required as we believe children learn from each other.
All outside areas are shared environments and we ensure everywhere is staffed with the necessary adult to child ratio.
The large classroom is friendly, bright and cheerful with the children’s artwork proudly displayed on the walls. There is dual outdoor space with grass and paved areas which is great for any weather, and they are well formed with all sensory experiences catered for.
We recognise the importance of play and use this as the main tool for children’s learning. There is a balance of child-initiated activities and adult-directed activities which enhance the learning and development of each individual child.
Our Pre-School Manager and staff are more than happy to talk with parents further in relation to the EYFS and their child’s individual development. We welcome you asking as many questions as you need to.
